Formed in 1996 for the benefit of the community, Cars for Charity is a collaboration between 14 non-profit agencies (all of the members of the Spokane County United Way) and Pull & Save Auto Parts.

Knox Avenue Spokane, WA 99206 ![]() The fundamental objective: to provide an avenue for people to dispose of unwanted vehicles while giving them the opportunity to support the services of local charities. Since its inception, over 6,800 vehicles, ranging from those sold for parts to fully operable motor homes, cars, trucks and boats, have been donated.
Donors may designate their contribution to one of the following agencies, or have the proceeds split equally among all participating agencies.
American Red Cross Inland Northwest Chapter provides emergency basic human needs for disaster vicctims, military personnel, families of veterans, health and safety training, AIDS education, volunteer and community services for youth and adults. 326-3330
Camp Fire USA Inland Northwest Council builds caring, confident youth and future leaders--one small group at a time. Camp Fire provides hands-on educational opportunities for boys and girls to become more skilled at planning activities, making decisions, dealing with conflict, solving problems, taking responsibility for their actions, as well as outdoor education and leadership opportunities through Camp Dart-Lo and Camp Sweyolakan. Our programs benefit children from ages 3 through grade 12, as well as young adults with developmental disabilities or special needs. 747-6191 Cancer Patient Care is the region's only non-profit providing direct life-sustaining service to cancer patients who have limited resources. Emotional, educational, financial, medical and social service support is available. 456-0446 Children's Home Society of Washington offers counseling and support for children and families, including parent education programs, relatives raising relatives and a broad spectrum of information and support services for families touched by adoption. 747-4174 Eastern Washington Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing offers communication advocacy, information and referral services, and interpreters for deaf and hard of hearing individuals as well as educational training for organizations. 328-9220 Excelsior Youth Center connects kids with their future through residential, foster care, and drug and alcohol programs providing hope, direction and therapeutic intervention for emotionally and behaviorally impaired youth. 328-7041 Martin Luther King Jr. Family Outreach Center is a pioneering, non-profit, community based organization that since 1970 has worked to enhance the quality of life for children, youth and families in Spokane's southeast and east central neighborhoods. 455-8722 Second Harvest Food Bank of the Inland Northwest provides food to nearly 44,000 people each month through 21 emergency food pantries in Spokane County and more than 300 non-profit agencies in Eastern Washington and North Idaho. 534-6678 Spokane Guilds' School & Neuromuscular Center provides early intervention therapies and comprehensive assessments annually for over 200 developmentally disabled infants and toddlers from birth to three in Spokane County. 326-1651 Spokane Neighborhood Action Programs (SNAP) provides a wide range of services designed to meet emergency basic needs such as heat, homeless shelters for families, home repair for low-income, weatherization, affordable housing and many other critical services. 456-7111 Spokane County United Way is committed to improving the lives of families and individuals in Spokane County. Community investments are strategically allocated by volunteers to over forty five carefully selected programs, providing immediate crisis relief and long-term preventative solutions. 838-6581 VNA Home Health Care Services (also known as Spokane Visiting Nurse Association) provides in-home health care to people of all ages with all medical diagnoses, regardless of ability to pay. Clients must need skilled services of a nurse or therapist and have difficulty leaving home. 534-4300 YFA Connections provides prevention, intervention, education and treatment services to youth, families, and adults in conflict or crisis. Youth programs include temporary shelter and counseling services for at-risk, runaway and homeless teens at our Crisis Residential Center. 532-2000 YMCA of the Inland Northwest offers over 140 different developmental programs annually to children, youth, families, and seniors. Programs include licensed before-and after-school child care; teen recreation, leadership, and employment opportunities; day camp and resident camp; educational tutoring and reading; and youth sports programming that ranges from gymnastics and aquatics to basketball and soccer. 838-3577 |
